Jakarta (Kontan) Feedlot business operators are confused. A rise in the price of feeder stock from Australia is the reason. An increase in demand for feeder stock and for beef is suspected of being the cause of the price spike. Currently Australia is rolling out live feeders at US $3.5 per kilogram, while typically feedlots purchase feeder cattle from Australia at a normal price of about US $2.8-US $3 per kg.
