Suspected of spreading meningitis, pig farms are being inspected in Bali – Warta Kota 14 Mar 2017

Jakarta (WartaKota) – To prevent transmission of the virus suis meningitis, the Denpasar Veterinary Center has conducted inspections of pigs in Jembrana District in Bali. The inspections were conducted through taking blood samples, saliva and feces of pigs suspected of being infected. Denpasar Veterinary Center Head I Wayan Masa Tenaya said this pathogen does not just originate from pigs but also from other animals. Prior to this outbreak, three residents Gubug in Tabanan District and Jembrana District in Bali had contracted meningitis. Read more at:
