The political system in Indonesia can regard itself as extremely successful in its quest to hold live cattle prices down for the Ramadan and Lebaran festival period. For the first time in the 17 year history of fattening Australian cattle in Indonesia, prices of live slaughter cattle remained constant during this short period of highest annual demand.
